PARALEL STRUCTURE

Paralel structure adalah bentuk dua kata,dua frasa,atau dua klausa yang harus sejajar jika dihubungkan oleh kata penghubung seperti and,or, atau but.
Jenis-jenis paralel structure yaitu :


       1.Paralel Berupa Kata

       contoh:

• We like apple and orange.
• Does she need pencils or pens?
• You can call Shone or Shane.

       2. Paralel Berupa Verb ( Kata Kerja)

       Contoh

• You can take it or leave it.
• He came here not to meet her but to see me.

       3. Paralel Berupa Verb-ing

       Contoh

• I like reading and writing.
• He is not eating but sleeping.

       4. Paralel Berupa Frase

       Contoh

• You should put the novel on the table or under the chair.
• I met him after the meeting and before the seminar 

       5. Paralel Berupa Clause

          Contoh

• I know where he went and what he did.
• I will ask about what he likes or what he hates.

       6. Paralel Berupa Adjective (Kata Sifat)

         Contoh

• He is smart and diligent.
• The show can be boring or interesting

       7. Paralel Dengan "Both...And", "Neither...Nor", "Either...Or", "Not Only...But Also"

         Contoh

• Both my father and my mother are teachers.
• Either Shone or Top love Nam.
• Neither Ijon nor Santo lives in Yogyakarta.
• He came here not only  to buy stamps but also to send letters.
